Very reliable switches.
It is my second purchase of this product. The first one was for a set of dimmable switches a year and a half ago. Since they worked great and ease of the app I’ve decided to get 3-way to keep going. These were easy to install and setup. They perfectly work with the other/old switches. The main thing during the install is to determine which one is the “master” switch in your wiring and this is the one that needs to be replaced with the smart switch. Good stuff.

Cannot use 2 of these in the same lighting circuit
If you want to use 2 of these to control the same light, it won’t work. It requires that the other 3-way switch be a dumb switch. The behavior observed is that the lights will toggle on/off constantly. For what it’s worth though, I have 2 of the MJ-ST01 that are pre-flashed with Tasmota and they work fine in the exact same lighting circuit where the MJ-ST01/SmartLife versions failed.[Tedious details below for DIY / Tasmota people]Short version : if you are using Tasmota, you have to choose between having the ability to control the LED status light OR having the consistent look/feel of two MJ-ST01 switches controlling the same light. Can’t have both, apparently.I originally purchased the MJ-ST01/pre-flashed-Tasmota versions and they functionally work out-of-box. Have multiple circuits where 2 of these are paired with a light. Physical button presses toggle the lights at both switches. Everything Tasmota works, and my HomeAssistant software can control/read state just fine. My only complaint is that it’s impossible to make the MJ-ST01/pre-flashed-Tasmota version behave in such a way where the RED LED is ON when the lights are OFF because it’s internally using a Tuya MCU for the WiFi. There’s no way to control the RED LED via GPIO, and Tuya control protocol on this unit doesn’t have anything for controlling the state of the RED LED light. However, the MJ-ST01/SmartLife versions are not using a Tuya MCU and everything is controlled via GPIO. Consequently, it’s theoretically possible to open the MJ-ST01/SmartLife units up, flash them with Tasmota, and control the behavior of the RED LED. The problem is that these units MUST be installed with a dumb-switch in the circuit. This is bad if you want a consistent look-and-feel for all of your home’s switches.

Great switch to add to home automation.
I am a self professed home automation geek. I like to control all aspects of lights at my home. Turning on/off at right time, or when I leave/enter the house etc.I exclusively buy switches which I can ‘locally’ control. i.e. not using a third party app or manufacturer servers. It requires little extra elbow grease (opening the switch and installing open source firmware) but in the end I have system which doesn’t require dependence on manufacturer servers.I have been buying martin-jerry switches for a long time since they work perfectly for my use case. They use standard ESP8266 wifi chips which can be reprogrammed to work with your home automation software. Few times I had to contact manufacturer for some tech details, and I was surprised that they respond quickly and very supportive of geeks like me. They tool feedback from me and other friends and tried to incorporate in their future products. Given their support and choice of hardware, I give a 5 start to this switch. One side note, some of you may not like the translucent front of switch but it wasn’t a big issue for me.
