    Great Option of Local Backup
    There were two considerations for purchasing this camera system. The first was the ability to save the videos without the need for cloud storage. A simple backup drive plugged into the hub was all that was needed. The second reason was the extra long battery life. It is not fun having to continually pull and recharge batteries. The system has been up for over a week and I am still over 90% battery life remaining.The bonus was the picture quality being very clear. Easy to use, easy to set up.

    Do yourself a favor and never buy Arlo. They say the setup I easy, it’s not because their devices won’t connect to another another. On top of that you can’t return it. Terrible product and company

    This is my second Arlo system. My first one made it 5 years before the base hub lost the Ethernet port. This latest kit is still just as easy, super fast, and the video quality is great.

    The cameras are good however, they serve no security purpose if you aren’t at home because you cannot access any of the videos when you are off your local LAN.

    For the cameras to have all their functionality you have to subscribe to their service
    I lok the cameras. They were easy to install and sync. I would have gave a 5 for the overall rating but the thing I did not like was to have all the camera’s functionality you have to subscribe to their cloud service. If you brought their smart hub which give you the ability to store and view the videos locally. but there are several problems with that. 1. only one person has access to view the videos (the owner of the account. So, if you create a friend they will see the notifications but cannot see the videos. 2. The owner of the account can only view the videos if the are at home and connect to their home network. In other words, if you are on vacation you will receive the motion notification but you cannot view the video. That defeats the purpose of having the cameras. Arlo fees for the cloud service isn’t priced bad $5 a month for one camera or $13 a month for unlimited cameras. But i was trying not to have another bill. If you pay the cloud service annually its $11 for unlimited cameras.

    Junk! Stay away
    There is no reason why all cameras disappeared in the Arlo Security app. Adding all cameras requires deleting all cameras and adding them again, which is tedious. I threw away all my cameras and switched to Blink.
