    Works as good as new
This camera gets really good battery life at a medium-traffic front door. It captures motion well at night and during the day. Every once in a while it’ll catch something kinda far in the distance but generally it’s accurate. Really no complaints. Easy to use and I love that the doorbell connects to Alexa so she announces visitors.

With the option to recharge with existing wires, it’s excellent!
I chose this model because I wanted the option to either go fully wireless, or mount it as needed and run on battery only. The battery is large and holds a charge well. In a high traffic area that triggers the camera often, this may run the battery down quickly. At least, it runs for weeks on a full charge in high activity mode. But even so, the battery comes out quickly and easily, just be very careful not to lose the screwdriver that comes with the camera! This unit was remanufactured, I was cautious to trust it. But with high build quality, it’s worked perfectly for four months and counting!I’m probably going to buy a second one for the back door next. The option to hook it up to existing power wires was a HUGE help. Without this, I would have to disassemble the additional mounting case I bought first, then disassemble the camera to remove the battery to recharge. With the low voltage wires from the original doorbell, no problem! The internal charger keeps the battery at 80-90 percent charged all the time. Never have to worry! The App also lets you check the current battery level, so you know for sure, easy to remain confident in the device.Original doorbell was on the corner of the other wall near the door. With an additional mount, I can get full video coverage of the walkway. Even the stock angled mounting plate would have helped.Wide camera angle makes it very useful, even in odd mounting positions. Good sensitivity to motion, and easily adjustable in the very good App.You don’t need to pay for the video storage unless you really want to keep a record of potential activating events. Without the plan, you get live viewing and that’s about it. Sure, check the view when you want, get notifications when it triggers by movement or button push.If you want a greater sense of/level of security, or you travel and cannot always check your phone when an activation alert is sent, then opt for the service plan.

I was on the fence, so glad I bought this and took a chance!
This has so far, worked out perfect in the over 2 weeks I’ve had it up. It works as new, and I got a great deal on the upgraded model for less than the regular Ring doorbell. The video quality, sound, features, and battery life has been remarkable. It’s been up for over 2 weeks—and still charged at 81% battery remaining. (Edit: I just realized it’s actually been up for 20 days now, and it’s still at 81% for reference purposes.) It is triggered by my neighbors and husband several times daily. So it’s getting use and capturing video/sound many times, and still not zapping all the battery up. I will be purchasing the Ring cloud plan after the free trial, it’s so worth it! It does take about 10 hours to charge the battery completely at first, so I’ll be purchasing a backup for the future to have it ready. It’s nice to have the 4 seconds of pre-roll to see what triggered the motion sensor. Just that little “extra” feature. I live in an apartment, and this is mounted in a locked box fixture on my front door, works great! I’m glad I tried refurbished and took the chance, it had the option for return, so I figured it was worth a try.

    Works like it should
Works great! Does what it is supposed to do. Easy to install. Battery could be better but that’s expected out of rechargeable items. Mounting and connection setup was easy. I have it set to my Alexa also. She announces when someone is approaching my door. Good thing to have for home security. Would recommend

    Don’t buy the refurbs
Got two refurbished Ring doorbells. Could not set either of them up. When scanning the QR codes on the units during the setup process, it will not complete the setup without having the information of the previous owner. App directs to page to request transfer of ownership or become a shared used. Transfer of ownership according to Ring app takes up to 15 days.
