    Small and highly capable.
    These units are smaller than the previous version and actually more powerful in programming. All the good attributes of Shelly products in a small package. Works great with all the home control systems I’m running in parallel (for comparison) and much easier to fit in a crowded box. I do recommend using clamp on wire connectors instead of wire nuts, though.

    Fantastic relay with extra features!
    Love that this unit is feature packed. Want to use Bluetooth only? No problem. Wifi only using its own local web interface? No problem. Both? Sure. Integrate with Home Assistant? You betcha. Locally instead of cloud integration? Yes!This unit is not only smaller than the regular 1PM, it can handle/use 12AWG wire, something the 1PM regular sized model cannot (which is mind boggling – why can the mini, which can only handle 8A, handle 12AWG wire, but the 1PM UL, which can handle 15A, mandate 14AWG?).A pre-me-buying-it-unknown factoid that was an amazing addition was the ability of the relay to function as a bluetooth controller over Wifi. Meaning, if this is integrated into Home Assistant or some other application, you can use this to control Bluetooth Low Emissions (BLE) devices.My only quibble about Shelley, in general, is that their cloud-based remote control application (which you don’t “have” to use) does not understand the concept of multiple residences. Instead, you must group relays/Shelley devices by “rooms” which may or may not make sense for your application.

    Easiest to install Shelly Relays
    I’ve been using Shelly relays and dimmers for a while. Our electrical boxes are pretty standard North American single gang boxes. Some of the other Shelly relays can be tricky to get installed. But this new mini size is so much easier to fit. Get yourself some of the push type connectors for romex and you can install these pretty quickly.The added bluetooth, multiple wifi connections, and new interface is slick too. I want this update for all my older relays.

    Solid built
    I can’t believe these work so well. I installed 1 in my kids bathroom fan so they would quit leaving it on all the time. I use Home assistant to turn the fam off after 1 hour. I’ll get a temp humidity sensor in the bathroom next to turn it on automatically next.

    These relays have been a great addition to our growing smart home. Initially went down a well known smart bulb route but that left us tied in to the brand (and their cost) and having to replace failed bulbs after a few years.These relays were easy enough to install for someone who is competent with basic home electrics. They mean we can continue to use our existing light fixtures and bulbs.The Shelly mini is small enough to install in the ceiling rose if the light fixture or ideally if you have a neutral at the switch, then to put behind there. Quick to set up, lots of configuration options including viewing power consumption. If you’re a home assistant user then they integrate easily there too which has enabled me to then use with Apple HomeKit.Plan to buy a lot more of these for other lights around the house!
