I had the gen 1 version and it was in direct sunlight and some rain and it weathered pretty badly. Other gen 1’s that I have are more protected and are doing fine.

Iâm not sure why manufacturers are still using 1080p sensors in 2024. The default fisheye view is problematic and cannot be permanently fixed. In less than two months, my unit has already started freezing, requiring a power cycle (unplugging the unit) to resolve. It has frozen twice in the past few days.6/14/24 update: A few days after posting the original review, my unit now requires a power cycle two to three times a day. Hikvision tech support has been unhelpful and redirected me to the seller, who has not responded to my inquiry.

Annoying to set up
It is a great doorbell if you already have Hikvision or Annke cameras, as you can record to your NVR with it. Easy to install but setting it up in the app and on wifi can be tedious. But it is great if you dont want to deal with subscriptions through Ring or other companies.

Why can’t the video be 4:3 aspect ratio and not fisheye. It looks ugly on my nvr. I am even tempted to replace it soon. 180degree coverage with 4:3 aspect ratio will make this product competitive and popular.
