I purchased this relay to automate my garage door and it turned out to be pretty easy. There are plenty of instructions online for how to set these up for different scenarios. I used an old Netgear router power cable and just stripped the cabled and plugged them into the inputs on the Shelly. One of the best features is that you can set it run locally only and not use the cloud. This relay can fit easily behind light switches to help make them smart too!

12V wifi connected switch
Planning to use it to as an on/off switch for a low voltage (12V) water fountain pump in my back yard. Has to be installed in a waterproof enclosure since it will be exposed to the elements. Programming it through its web address is relatively straightforward if you have some knowledge of local network configurations. There is an app that might simplify the setup process but I didnât try it. No soldering needed – the connections are all tiny screw clamps. Well worth the price.

Have used the Shelly Uni before to lock and unlock the bay doors on my coach using the app. I’m going to use the Shelly plus 1 to open and close the dump valves for my black and grey tanks. It also allows me to wire in a manual toggle switch. The app also allows me to set how many seconds to activate the circuit. They connect to wifi so I can control from anywhere I have internet. Also can set up Alexa to communicate with the shelly.

What a disapointment.
Update 05/31/2023: Now the second unit is acting up, and tech support have me chasing ghosts.I thought I finally found the solution for the 300 different type of devices and Apps to “smart” my home.Couldn’t be more wrong.The Device is not made with US in mind. Can’t properly secure a 12AWG. Plus you have to “run new Neutral wires” for 3 way configuration, crazy.One of the devices malfunctioned and it took almost 4 weeks for the 1st email to be answered only to get the 3rd. degree. after another 3 weeks I received a voucher to be used only on their website for the valued paid. Except that it was more in that site and they rounded down the $ of the credit. They also discontinued the original product.

Lâinstallazione è semplicissima e non richiede alcuna competenza tecnica avanzata: bastano pochi minuti per configurarlo correttamente.Le impostazioni sono intuitive e facilmente accessibili tramite lâapp Shelly, che offre unâinterfaccia chiara e ben organizzata. Used this to control my vivarium light, mainly through alexa but also with my phone. I did a bit of research because I wasnât sure if you needed to wire a manual switch for it to work (you donât). Wiring is fairly straight forward without including a switch. Had a few problems pairing it to the app but that could well have been user error. Once Iâd got it connected, added the alexa skill, paired my Shelly account and it works flawlessly. Canât comment on reliability yet but it appears to be good quality. Would have been cheaper to just put an inline switch in but who doesnât love a gadget.

Lo instalé en mi videoportero. Como no tenÃa conexión de abrepuertas mi videoportero soldé en los dos puntos del pulsador. Lo único para conectarlo a la red wifi de mi casa tuve q conectarme primero a la red wifi del Shelly y después meterme en la dirección 192.168.33.1 asà entro en la configuración de mi Shelly y ya le digo a q red wifi se tiene q conectar. Después ya en la app le doy a buscar en mi red y encontrado. Todo perfecto. Ahora ya no me hace falta llave del portal. Pulso en mi piso y ya desde la aplicación abro, es que en mi videoportero hay que llamar al piso primero para que pueda abrir desde la app.
