    Great remote switch
    This is a great remote dimmer switch. I don’t use the Alexa compatibility, but it’s nice to know it’s there if I change my mind. The magnetic snap-in wall plate is very clever and useful if you want a wall mounted switch. The only reason for 4 stars is the remote. It is a good remote, also nice and small. But the printing is small and hard to see if you don’t have perfect vision, and it is so symmetrical you can’t tell which way is up. If it were not symmetrical, or had some tactile bumps on the switches it would be easier to tell ON from OFF and Dimmer from Brighter, especially in the dark before you turn it on. As it stands the “+” and “-” are printed so small they are hard to tell apart, and the “ON” and “OFF” are both represented by a drawing of a lightbulb, one plain and one with little lines around the bulb indicating “ON”. I ended up putting a self-adhesive bumper on the “ON” button so I could tell what was what. If not for the ambiguity of the remote I would definitely give this 5 stars. By the way, you can’t use this (or any other electronic dimmer) with lamps that already have an electronic dimmer, unless you really like uncontrollable strobe lights…

    Doesn’t dim the full range
    There are supposedly 7 levels to the dimming. With LED bulbs (I have many that work with these TRIAC style dimmers), you lose 2 of the levels (the 1st and the last, b/c they are exactly the same as level 2 & 6). With Incandescents, there is no noticeable dimming between level 1 &2, but there is some additional brightness between 6 & 7. The high price of this dimmer with it’s few dimming intervals meant I had to return it. I did like the smallness of its remote (with a wall attachment plate), plus the extra controls on the outlet itself (making it versatile, though, honestly, rarely used…. who is bending down to a plug to dim the lamp?), but I don’t want to use Alexa voice control (sorry, privacy matters), so the poor dimming range and high price were the deal breakers.

    Very convenient and has worked with almost every bulb – remote needs improvements
    I’m a huge fan of dimmable lighting – when I don’t need brightness, I prefer a dimmer light – but when I am reading or need to see, I want bright light. This handy plug gives me either, or somewhere inbetween with the touch of a remote. The remote quality is lacking – sometimes it responds when I push the buttons, sometimes it doesn’t. I really like being able to plug both lamps into the one unit and control them at the same time (together). I also like that I can use the remote control only, it doesn’t need to be hooked up to wifi or doesn’t require an app to work. Other than the remote issues, it’s a good product that solves being able to dim a nondimmable lamp.

    Instant dimmer, no rewiring required!
    I love this thing. So convenient, and useful for converting lamps throughout the home into dimmable lighting, no requiring required – that being said it’s finicky. I have two of these, used on two different lamps with two different dimmer bulbs. On each one if you go to the highest setting it starts strobing. It works ok for me because I really only keep them on the dimmer end of the spectrum. Size is nice and discreet. Sits flush against the wall.

    Does a great job! Must buy dimmable LED’s to work though!!!
    This product has made such a difference in the ambience of my room. It has four settings of dimness which allows you to have a wide range of choices of how bright you want a room. My only complaint about this dimmer is that you MUST have dimmable LED, halogen, or incandescent light bulbs for this to work. If not the lights will flicker and the dimmer will not work at all. However, once you have the right light bulbs this product works great and has been super reliable. I also loved that it came with batteries for the remote. The instructions are very detailed and helpful and make sure to follow them exactly otherwise the product will not work properly.
