Highly functional, and easy to install (but requires a neutral wire)
This is a two-pack of smart light dimmer switches, each with its own wireless remote controller capable of turning the connected lights on and off and adjusting their brightness up and down. They work with incandescent and halogen bulbs up to 600 watts, and most dimmable LED and CFL bulbs up to 200 watts. Not only can you control the lights by using buttons on the wall switch itself or on the wireless remote controllers, but you can also use voice commands if you have an Alexa/Google voice assistant. In my home, a chandelier with LED bulbs hangs over my dining room table–but the wall switch that controls it is located in the adjacent kitchen. That’s somewhat inconvenient, but to install a switch in the dining room would require tearing up the walls to add the required wiring. But now that I’ve replaced the kitchen wall switch with one of these smart dimmers, the dining room light can be controlled from anywhere by using the little wireless remote controller. (I don’t have an Alexa/Google voice assistant, but if I did, I could also have it command the smart dimmer switch to turn the light on and off at pre-selected times.)Installation is as easy as installing any ordinary dimmer switch–but only if your installation location has a “neutral” wire. Many locations do, but some do not. To find out whether your your intended installation location does, look at the wiring in the site where the dimmer will be located. Neutral wires are normally white, and if you find one or more white wires in your installation location, you can easily install this smart dimmer. The included instruction sheet, fairly well written, shows how to do it. A white Decoro-style snap-on trim plate is included, or you can use any standard Decoro plate. The tiny wireless remote can simply be carried around or placed on a shelf or table–but there’s also a plastic case you can attach to a wall (or even to a piece of furniture), and snap the controller into it.A row of seven little green LEDs along the upper edge of the smart dimmer shows the brightness level it is currently set to. And although it’s not mentioned in the website description or the instruction sheet, there’s a dim orange glow behind the “On” button of the wall-mounted smart dimmer. It’s a thoughtful addition, making it easy to find the “On” button in a dark room. The package contains two smart dimmers and two wireless remote controllers. You must “pair” each remote controller to the smart dimmer you want it to control, using a very simple procedure. Thus, each remote can be paired to control only one of the smart dimmers–or both, if you prefer.

UL listed and face plates included
This is an awesome value and everything is included in the box. You get all the wire nuts, the switches, face plates and remote/wireless mount anywhere switches with face plates as well and the battery needed to power them. You also get screws and anchors to mount the wireless switch. The directions are easy to follow and there is even a wiring diagram on the back of the switch to help with the install which is much nicer than the ones you get from the big box stores and for this price you only get one switch from them and not even the wireless switch which is usually sold separately. These are only a single pole and can not be used where a 3 way switch is needed. Install took me about 15 minutes and that included me going down to the basement and switching off the breaker. I used this switch for a remolded staircase where a light switch is needed at the bottom and top of the stairs per code and these worked fantastic. There is no flickering or slow light up time at all. You push the button and you have light. What is also nice is besides the dimming function you can just press the top button and it will light up fully. Linking it to Alexa was quick and easy and she has not lost connection with the new switches at all and it been over a week. One last thing that is neat is that on the switch there is a set of lights at the top letting you know where on the dimming scale your light is at. Only thing is to make sure you have compatible bulbs, meaning that they can be dimmed as not all led or bulbs can be. I will be buying these again to use in the kitchen island and garage entry way.

Great alternative to Pico remote with a couple of bonuses and a couple of limitations
I have used Pico remotes with plugs for other light controls because they don’t require wiring. These require wiring for the main switches but through in remotes as well that operate off a ubiquitous 2032 battery. If you live in an older home check that you have the correct wiring. These need three wires to operate correctly, one going directly to the fixture you’re controlling. Because they’re smart switches with a remote they need power even when the light is off. I could not install them in one of the rooms I wanted because there were only the two wires that provide power to the light. The other location had a neutral wire so I installed it there without problem. A couple of differences between the Pico remote I’m familiar with. The dimmer is pretty limited. It doesn’t seem to dim as low as other dimmers but this could be a fault of the light and not the switch. I did not have a dimmer on the light this was used so just keep that in mind. It’s also very slow to dim and increase brightness. Something I really miss is the ability to double click to have the brightness go to maximum instead of having to hold the button down or press repeatedly. The remotes make up for the shortcomings though. They come with switch plate like holders so you can easily mount them anywhere without having to deal with wiring. The remotes are held in with a small magnet so they can be removed easily and used elsewhere (or without the switch plate like holder entirely if you wish) They operate and pair super easily and you can pair both remotes to the same switch if that floats your boat.Great value and functionality when compared to other options making adding a switch where there wasn’t one before a breeze. I have not used the app or any of the smart features because after spending all the time and effort in the past I found I just don’t use them that way. Having a switch where you want it is much better!
