Dimmer Switch with Wireless Remote Control, Dimmer Light Switch, Single Pole Smart Switch Light Switch Support 2.4G&5G Compatible with Alexa

The dimmer was unboxed, inspected, the old Leviton dimmer switch removed and this new unit installed precisely per wiring directions provided on back of switch since the written instructions were ambiguous. When power was applied, the LED dimmer status lights functioned as expected when light level was RAISED/LOWERED using the switch. Unfortunately, the power to the light circuit was not functional. Ergo, the unit was defective right out of the box. It will be returned for a full refund and Leviton products researched because hopefully they will work new out of the box.

Easy to work with and well packaged but dimming not as good as some others
The product was purchased to provide a way to turn off a light fixture from the bottom of the stairs where there was no switch. The product accomplished its task.The product included a remote, remote battery, and a mountable holder for the remote. The remote stays in place in the mountable holder and aesthetically looks nice.The product came with thorough instructions. The product was easy to work with. The switch leads were easy to work with.The dimming function works, but the responsiveness is slower than what would be desired. Based on the lights on the top of the switch, there are seven levels of dimming; however, the bottom two and top two levels have made the bulb I installed have the shame brightness, so in effect for the bulb I installed at least there are five levels. To adjust the brightness, if you tap once, the brightness will adjust by one level. If you hold in the button, it feels like there’s an initial delay in responsiveness and then if you hold to the desired brightness it can overshoot what you want. However, it also feels like if you count in your head from the start in one second intervals you can successfully adjust to the desired level by counting and each second you count is how many levels the brightness will eventually adjust to. The prior method requires you to know ahead of time, though, which level of brightness the switch is already at to know how many seconds to count to get to the desired brightness level. In effect, the dimming does work, but there’s a small learning curve to using it smoothly. In a different part of the house, there’s a smart dimmer from a different brand that was probably $75. That dimmer has seven levels of dimming that do all work and, while a short delay in changing brightness if at max brightness or off, otherwise has responsive dimming that stops on a dime when adjusting. I would say that the difference in price between this product and a much more expensive one probably has to do with the responsiveness of the dimming, as well as this product requiring a neutral wire.The product came with a screw-free cover plate for the switch. However, I used a third-party cover plate, and the product was compatible. I appreciated that there was no issue.I also like the colored light for when the switch is off. It’s nice to enter the hallway and be able to immediately see the switch if it’s dark.

Great Smart Dimmer Switch for Your Smart Home…
This is a great Smart switch to add to your Smart Home with dimming and a removable remote. Honestly, I’m not sure why this needs to be remote-controlled since it can be controlled with your voice through Alexa, but I guess it’s a nice added feature. Replacing my existing switch with this one was a breeze, and connecting to Alexa only took opening the APP. I didn’t need to add yet another APP, which is a huge bonus!
