How to Connect Alexa?

1. After you have connected your device to AiDot app, go to the Aidotor>Integration>choose Amazon Alexa.

2. Put in your Alexa username and password to connect the two accounts.

3. This enables the AiDot skill within Alexa. (Note: the skill is AiDot.)

1: Light up the light bulbs, open AiDot APP and sign in.

    Great wifi bulb with a pretty decent amount of color options
    At first I was confused about whether I got the wrong bulb. When received, it looked like any other LED bulb that you can get at your local walmart or hardware store. I was expecting a bluish topped bulb, with blue wrapping around the base, similar to what is shown on the first picture of the product. Not a knock against it, just a surprise on my part.It’s easy to install. Just like any other light blub! Screw in and blam! :-)Of course, if you want to be able to adjust the dimness and the color, you have to do a little bit more. Connecting it to my wifi was simple enough and is done through the AiDot app. It uses the 2.4Ghz wifi and is the only option since that spectrum has more range.Through the AiDot app, you can set up a schedule for it to turn on automatically based on a set time and day. There are also preset colors that you can use to where it simulates certain seasons or time of years, or other activities (i.e. Birthdays). Its kind of fun. I played around with it a bunch and went through a bunch of colors, but the nice standard white or off white you get from a regular bulb, is pretty much what I set this to.The only annoyance is that I don’t recall signing up for AiDot marketing emails (or whoever the manufacturer is), which come pretty often (daily I think). It was easy enough to unsubscribe, but I just don’t recall signing up for it in the first place. It would have been nice to have been able to opt out to begin with.For several weeks it has worked well without any issues, so anyone looking for a reasonably priced wifi bulb with color options, should take a good look at this one.

    Not so smart bulb
    First of all, I’m not that keen on installing a bunch of foreign apps to run all the different products that keep coming into our lives. I was curious about this smartbulb, and we have a room that would be perfect for a bulb that responds to music, so I gave it a shot. I installed the bulb, turned it on, and it flashed several colors then stayed on warm white. I downloaded the app (it’s 85MB so I had to uninstall another app to fit it!), and when I went to install it, it just said “can’t install, please try again”. So I’d try again and get the exact same thing. I use an Android device. So, for a regular white bulb, it’s fine but expensive at $13, but that’s all I am able to use it for since the app is crapp.

    Easy to set up – colors are subdued – works well with the appI have set this up in my living room in one of the side table lamps and I really like it. Installation on my phone with the Aidot app was extremely easy (I can’t comment on connecting it to Alexa or any other smart system). Install the app, register for an account, let the app know what device to connect to, connect to Wifi, and then just find your favorite settings to create the desired ambiente. The app is simple to use in my opinion. The on/off button is at the top, the brightness slider next, then tabs to choose between Presets, White light (warmth setting), and Colors.The Schedule setting function is underneath that.I did not explore the app any further than that; took me 2 minutes to find my way around and play around with it for a bit with my son to experiment with color settings.So, I think this is a great and easy to use smart bulb that has opened up another world of “hygge” for me. If you’re looking to explore, give it a try.

    Fun, with tons of color options and combinations!
    This bulb is… fun! Once I got past the first hurdle (should’ve read the instructions) which was attempting to use it in a lamp that has a dimmer switch (don’t do that – the bulb will flicker like a strobe light and it’s not fun), setup was easy; note that you do need a wifi network to connect it to. It’s the same shape and size as a standard LED bulb.You control the bulb using the AiDot app, which includes a whole lot of ways to customize the way you use this bulb. The app has multiple preset color options, and you can set your own custom colors to basically any color on the spectrum that you can imagine. That includes any variation of white that you can possibly imagine, with any degree of warmth/coolness you desire. Oh, and the bulb is fully dimmable. You can set a schedule, use voice control (although I’m yet to try out that feature), and have it sync to the rhythm of your music.In short, like I said – it’s fun!

    IT’S YOUR BASIC LED SMART BULB.
    This is just a basic LED smart bulb that will work with Alexa and Google Home, no more no less. You unscrew the old bulb, screw this one in place of it and use an app to set it up.I got this to install on the stairway going up to the loft at the cabin. I haven’t been to the cabin recently. So I haven’t installed it yet. I’m not anticipating any problems with it. If there are any I will update this review.

    Would not pair.
    Smart bulbs are not a new technology, and I am an experienced IT person.It would not pair, even though my phone Bluetooth could see it. The app would not.I gave it 10 minutes, then chucked it. If the hardware and software are not in harmony, then you will have ongoing issues… even if you give it the time to work out the initial connection.

    Great Value Smart Bulb
    I picked this up just to give it a try. It was easy to sync to the app and the app allows you to do so much with this bulb. Just connect to wifi and you are good to go. Any color you can think of, it can make happen. I also like the preset themes like reading or Christmas that you can choose. The app is easy to use and the light will do what you want. I think there is a lot more that it can do that I haven’t discovered yet. It is fun to try different colors and set different moods in your room. I think it’s a good value too.
