Excellent and Easy to Install
Iâve used a variety of Philips hue products over the years but held off on these for fear theyâd been hard to install. That fear was misplaced, they could not have been simpler to put in.The Bluetooth functionality works well and the lights cover a huge range of colors. Great value on the multipack too.

My Fave.
Iâm a huge Philips Hue fan. This is my second home Iâve converted to Philips hue bulbs. Dozens of lights in many rooms.Their LED lights seem to have this sweet, juicy look to them.An atmospheric density that colors the air. There is no feeling of any single point of light emission. Rather the room becomes the color. But beyond that, the reason I stay w/Phillips Hue is the app and tech. Itâs rock solid. And whatâs would come from a higher end technical company. Not some one off unknown company/developer that might not even be around in a year or two.Spend the xtra $. Go with Philips.

Great replacement lights
If you have 4″ cans (most people I know have 6, so double check), these are perfect drop in replacement lights. The color is great, they dim well, and they were easy to install. For a long time I did not like Hue lights because I didn’t want to control my lights from my phone, I wanted to use a switch. Nowadays you can get zigbee switches that can be paired to these lights to control the lights (on/off, dim) as well as smart control with your app. When you have it setup this way it’s very family friendly.Hue lights have become one of my new go to lights, and while they are not the cheapest, they are some of the best lights out there.

These lights are awesome
Purchased these lights for the kitchen. Read all the reviews on how difficult it was to install due to still clips. It wasn’t THAT hard… but I’m not looking forward to replacing them because the clips are pretty stiff. Fingers crossed that will be MANY years from now lolI honestly love these lights, how easy they were to install, how simply it integrated with the hub and the motion sensor. It’s very Apple-like in its simplicity. That being said, I practically had to mortgage the house to purchase four cans for the kitchen lolOTOH, the lights work. They work well. I’d definitely make the same decision and purchase again.

Poorly designed retro-fit lights from Philips.
These are absolute garbage retrofit can lights, specifically the 4â model. Iâm sure the internals of the Philips Hue lighting components are just as good as other Hue products, but as a retrofit can light, these are bad. In traditional retrofit kits, the feet or claws have a bit of springy push back on them, allowing you to press one foot to release it and provide some space on the opposing side to do the same. However, with the 4â retrofit lights, the feet are very rigid and bite into the can housing, making them very difficult to remove without causing some sort of damage to the light and more importantly to the surrounding drywall. Additionally, the baffle lip trim is very thin; if you have any sort of texturing on your walls, the baffle lips wonât lay flush. If you have architectural cutouts or areas where you need 4â recessed lighting, youâre better off buying a nice 4â baffle trim piece that suits your needs and screwing in a Philips Hue A19 bulb. Stay away from this 4â kit from Philips.

Good
The fit is perfect, but the fasteners have loosened once already. The adjustable brightness and colors are great. Overall I give it 5 stars for performance and appearance. But the app is clumsy, and it really wants you to buy the hub. Also, unlike my Cync bulbs, if I turn the switch off and back on, it resets. I added it to my Alexa devices to overcome that, but I would have rather used the wall switch.

Great product even if it wasn’t “new”
So I bought this product with some worry because the product was already opened and was bought as a returned item that there would be some damge on it itself or would not function. But that was not the case it works great! It light ups just fines and connects to the app with no issue! Plus i saved 20 bucks from the original “new” price! Money well spent and easy to install and use!

Is this the “rounded” flange, or the “flat” flange?I should give it five stars because I needed the rounded flange. Then again, confusion gets one star.Philips Hue lights are the best “smart” lights.Lets see what you get when you order… the “rounded” flange, or the “flat” flange. That’s why I give the best light one star… (the trimming — go figure).

I take away one star because they “snap” or “crackle” or “pop” when they heat up (turn on) or cool down (turn of). These lights are …almost… perfect. The “spread/angle” of the light is very good.Maybe not the best choice for a bedroom with the “popping” and such.
