Not the worst I’ve tried…
Most matter enabled devices are very easy to set up with your smart home protocol, this one wasn’t any exception to that, setup was very quick and straightforward and the control interface works just fine through Google home like I expected. Easy to install, and the prices on par with most of its competitors. Its brightness is also on par with most of its competitors, as is the quality and the range of colors. I really don’t see anything overly spectacular about this bulb, nor do I see anything really negative about it either. One of the things that bugs me about most smart bulbs is how much dimmer the colors are than the basic White, and since I’m a fan of cool white it bothers me that most smart bulbs default to Warm White and dim for cool white, this one is not an exception to that. However the Linkind brand ones I tried out last month were a notable exception to that, all of the colors are just as bright as the white and it has six easily accessible shades of white available from the home app. But back to this bulb, this bulb functions just as well as the Mercury brand bulbs I had previously, and still have in a couple of rooms, and they run $9.99 for the non-color version and 14.99 for the color version, which is exactly the same as this item at the time of writing. If you don’t need it to do colors, buy the Mercury brand and save $5. If you’ve got a little extra money to spend, buy the Linkind brand. If these are good enough for you, there’s nothing really wrong with them, they do work like they claim, and they do meet my expectations, they simply don’t exceed them at all.

good smart bulb
This Sengled LED smart bulb was super easy to install on my home wifi through Alexa. With other bulbs, I needed a special app on my phone, but this one did not. I believe you can install one, but don’t have to. Alexa recognized it right away and I am able to include it in some existing routines. I can use Alexa to change the brightness and the color of the bulb. You are limited to only about 10 color choices, no variation there, when using Alexa. I do not know if you installed the app if you would have more choices or variety there, but I do not need that for what I want it for. I was really pleased that it connected very easily.

A bit glitchy with Alexa
This smart bulb may not be quite as smart as it looks. Setting up wasn’t a problem, however once set up, it seems to have a mind of its own once turned off. Having to rest once shut off is pretty annoying.

Matter-enabled bulb works right out of the box.
Picked up this Matter-enabled Sengled LED Smart Light Bulb to try out in our home after some other branded bulbs failed on me. The Sengled paired quickly and easily within Apple’s Home app using the scan code on the side of the bulb’s base. Within five minutes, I had this bulb installed, paired and set to turn on and off and with different colors and intensities using different triggers in our home. The best part, no other app required. This is probably one of the easiest five-star reviews I’ve written.

Tough to pair, but works with Hubitat
I added mine through the Alexa app and it took several iterations through the setup wizard before it seemed to take. Once I was able to add it to Alexa, I was able to create a code in the app so that I can add the Matter device to my hubitat system. It has all of the same features accessible to hubitat as my other bulbs do, so I’m going to continue testing to see if it is better/same/worse than my Kasa KL135 bulbs.Other than the sloppy setup, it is now working.. I like the color so far too. The Alexa app has several preset light colors your can choose from, so I tested “salmon”, “sky blue”, “Lavender”, and a few others. I’d say they are pretty unique to their color names as “salmon colored” would be a hard one to tell if it’s accurate or not. I’m pretty sure I won’t be using the salmon setting.

Unpredictable , non responsive, no dimming
This lamp connected to Apple Home using Matter without issue. immediately after installing I could try out the various colors from the whites thru the colors. Then tried to dim and it would not change from 100%. Tried the dimmer from the wall switch and it also did not dim. tried again other color options and would not change of the last color. Powered off and back on and still stuck on a cool white and not able to change the color or change the brightness. Detached from HomeKit and re installed with no changes.Video shows a synced video of the light (not changing color or brightness) and screenshot attempting to make changes.
